The advanced San Gimignano mountain bike tour. This is a nice panoramic tour around the Vernaccia wine region, across little villages and endless vineyards hills. Along the way there will be time for short stop to get a sip of the fresh white wine called “Vernaccia di San Gimignano”.  We’ll make to the San Gimignano walled town on dirt roads and singletracks. This is a real mountain bike tour around the San Gimignano area.

ITINERARY

Van transportation from Florence.

Starting and arrival point: Colle Val d’Elsa

From there we start our tour across the gentle hills of the southern Chianti region heading south toward Siena. We follow the orl pilgrim path called “Via Francigena”. We’ll pass across some technical sections  and a creek crossing. As we reach the top we stop for a sip of white wine “Vernaccia” at an old vinery. As we reach San Gimignano we stop for a nice light lunch with local food, vegetarian or vegan are welcomed. After lunch it’s time for a San Gimignano short tour with a stop for an ice cream. Leaving San Gimignano we follow the road back down to Colle val d’Elsa with some stops along the way to take some picture of the superb panorama on the Elsa Valley.
